our mission

Augary seeks to make fleet safety more accessible through software and technology delivered at low cost. We supply devices directly to fleets and white-label software solutions for telematics providers. With our unique solution, fleets can monitor, train, and improve driver performance with better insight than ever before.

Dima Kislovskiy

Dima founded Augary and is the CEO. Before Augary, he was a software developer for a hedge fund specializing in global algorithmic futures and FX trading; there, he led a team of engineers building real-time systems which optimized the execution of orders and reduced trading costs resulting from market movements. Dima graduated from Columbia University in 2010 with an honors degree in Applied Mathematics.

Dr. Jie Zou

Jie is Augary’s CTO. His previous experience includes roles managing the R&D software development process, as well as design of large-scale software architecture for data mining and statistical modeling at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He has numerous published papers in machine learning and computer vision, and serves as the associate editor of Pattern Recognition Letters. Jie completed his Ph. D. in Computer Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic University in 2004.

Lucian Ionita

Lucian is Augary's Director of Engineering. Previously, he worked as a computer vision and machine learning generalist in the automotive industry (ANDATA). He was a consistent top finisher in national math and computer science Olympiads in his home country of Romania. Lucian completed a masters degree in Artificial Intelligence in 2013 at VU University in the Netherlands.

Dr. Mohamed Aly

Mohamed is a software engineer at Augary. His past experience includes designing algorithms to estimate location from visual surroundings (Google). He also developed in-car computer vision solutions for his doctorate research team’s entry to the DARPA Urban Challenge. Mohamed completed his Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering at California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in 2011.

Dr. Faisal Shafait

Faisal acts as an algorithmic advisor to Augary alongside his role as an Associate Professor of Computer Vision at the University of Western Australia. His previous work experience includes computer vision research in the automotive industry. Faisal is an editorial board member of the International Journal on Document Analysis and Recognition and has chaired numerous workshops and conferences in the field.

CHRIS DEERING

Chris is an advisor to Augary. He was President of Sony Computer Entertainment – Europe (SCEE) from 1995 to 2005, where he led a team to sales of over 80 million consoles and over 1 billion games. Previously, Chris served as Vice President – International for Atari game consoles and computers and Executive Vice President and COO for Columbia Pictures International Video. He was a board director for Wayfinder Systems, a navigation software firm, until its acquisition by Vodafone in 2009.
